On 17 and 18 October 2017 in Haskovo was held the First Work Meeting for Project “Development and promotion of gourmet and wine tourism in the cross-border region of Bulgaria and Turkey (TransGourmeTour)“, ref. № CB005.1.22.046 and contract № RD-02-29-238 / 31.07.2017 , co-financed by the EU through the INTERREG-IPA CBC Bulgaria – Turkey Programme 2014-2020, CCI 2014TC16I5CB005.

The Project, which began on 01.08.2017 is being executed by the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry, R. Turkey and the Association with Community Service “Thracian Sustainable Development”, Kolarovo village, Harmanli District and it’s duration is 12 months.

The main objective of the Project is to increase the Bulgaria-Turkey cross-border cooperation capacity in the field of sustainable tourism, aiming enhancement of European territorial cohesion, through promotion of alternative forms of tourism.

The project foresees the execution of the following main activities:

  1. 1. Project management.
  2. 2. Information and publicity.
  3. 3. Study of destinations for gourmet and wine tourism in Bulgaria and Turkey.
  4. 4. Creation of multilingual Tourist Gourmet Guide to the cross-border region of Bulgaria and Turkey, in two versions - Online platform and Mobile Application.
  5. 5. Organization of culinary exhibitions in Haskovo and Edirne during the first half of 2018

Mr. Yancho Yanev – Chairman of the MB of HCCI, opened the meeting, which was attended by representatives of the three partner organizations. Mr. Recep Zipkinkurt – Chairman of the MB of Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed his support and wished success in the implementation of the project activities. Various topics related to the implementation of Project Activities were discussed. The partners adopted an Action Plan and a Communication Plan. The forthcoming procedures for selection of external executors and the periods of the tenders were discussed.

The meeting proceeded in a spirit of cooperation and understanding, due to the long-standing relationships between the partners.
